The Rhea County Republican Party held a grand opening reception on Monday, February 27th that was attended by Republicans, and Democrats, from across the state. Estimates put the crowd in excess of two hundred visitors, who enjoyed refreshments as they toured the new facility, one of only six of its kind in the state. Many commented on the beautifully furnished sitting area and the spacious meeting room, decorated with photos of Republican Presidents with their first ladies and elephants too numerous to count.
The headquarters, located at 1359 Railroad Street, includes several rooms totaling over 2000 square feet of usable space. In addition to the sitting area and meeting room, restroom facilities, a mini-kitchen, an office, and several storage closets are available.
The Headquarters will be open daily from 10am until 2pm and will be staffed by local volunteers. Signs and literature relating to candidates in upcoming elections will be available for pickup during hours of operation. The staff of Rheagop.org wishes to extend a very special THANK YOU to all who donated hard earned money, decorations, and especially physical labor to make this dream a reality!
